There was no advance warning?. Nothing mentioned at the time any of us joined;. I know 4 people that joined during this promotion?.

The quintessential health club rip-off ! Very poor business practice..

Buyer be Aware... If we had known the special rate was only for a year, we still would have joined... Instead, they automatically started charging us this doubled rate without any advance notice. 128db17

Yes, they charge a $35 annual maintenance fee. That could be the reason why the bill was so high.

Are you sure that they increased your rate? My bill reflected an increase this month when I called they told me it is a one time annual fee since I did not get a service contract and that my normal rate will be billed for the remainder of the year.
